I am a mom of five…five amazing, imperfect, adventurous, sinful, passionate and loud kids. For me, motherhood has been THE BEST gig ever! And the hardest thing ever. And the most satisfying thing ever. God’s invitation to impact these five souls AND the transformation that has come to my own in the process, is beyond anything I could have dreamed up. I have learned more about who God is and his purpose for our lives through this motherhood journey. And along the way I have fallen madly in love with the humans He chose to put under my roof.
I’ll let you in on a secret.. once upon a time, I was not even a hint of that mama.
Back in my wee days of adulthood I was a driven, selfish and stubborn young woman and not likely anyone’s motherly suspect. Many of my friends were dreaming of being a mom from girlhood. I was, well… not. Motherhood was not the natural posture of my young adult life. My present adoration for being a mama and all that has accompanied it, happened by way of a patiently intent God who loves us enough not to leave us the way we are.
